What is a Property Flood Resilience - PFR grant?
With our Property Flood Resilience (PFR) grant you can get up to £8000 to protect your property against flooding. Since 2014, PFR grants have been made available to Essex residents who have experienced flood water entering their property.
Who can apply?
You can apply for a PFR grant if you’ve been affected by internal flooding from local flood risk sources such as rainfall, watercourses, and groundwater.

How much can I get?
You can get up to £8000 per property to protect your property against flooding.
What can I use the grant for?
You can use the PFR grant to protect your property by fitting flood protection products on your property. These include:
- Automatic flood doors
- De-watering pumps
- Barriers – usually fitted on doors and windows to prevent flood water from entering your property
- Air brick covers – placed over existing airbricks and vents to act as a seal to prevent floodwater from entering your property.

PFR GRANT UPDATE - July 2021
Our previous Property Flood Resilience (PFR) scheme delivery contract with Lakeside Solutions expired on 31 May 2021. We are currently in the process of procuring a new contract, which we anticipate to be live for the new financial year April 2022.
