Knowing what to do before and during a flood can help reduce damage and risks. The UK Government website explains how to get help during and after a flood and the National Flood Forum’s Ready for Flooding guide tells you everything you need to know to help yourself.
Get flood warnings on the go
Sign up to receive emailed weather warnings from the Met Office, this service will alert you whenever the Met office emit a weather warning for your area. This is a free service.
Sign up to receive phone, email or text alerts from the Environment Agency. This service is applicable to anyone who lives near a main river and may be at risk of river flooding. You’ll be alerted whenever significant rainfall may be on the way. Again this is free of charge.
